Chapter 109. Tests

As Maddie sat there, waiting for fate to decide for her what was about to happen next, she could not help but feel like her world was crashing down. 

Not only did she have to deal with the fact that Edler Roy had imprisoned her father and had given her an ultimatum that had led her to be his puppet, but she also had to deal with the fact that she had to make Nate hate her enough to reject her. 

Now, adding to the mix, she had to deal with the possibility of losing her scholarship and possibly not ever being able to afford to go to a decent school again. So far, the only good thing that was happening in her life was Jacob. 

Her connection with Jacob was getting stronger, she was falling for the guy, and at the same time, her heart did not want to let go of Nate. At this point, she knew that she was just being selfish by not picking, but again, it seemed like fate had already chosen based on all that was happening in her life.
