Chapter 116. A Talk

Jacob stared at Maddie for a few more seconds, his emotions begging him to do something impulsive but he held himself. They were in the public, and to add there, Maddie’s life was already complicated enough, he did not want to make it worse by kissing her in public when she was already promised to another man. 

And not just another man, but the alpha of the pack. So he only forced a chuckle out as his cheeks got heated. “Are you okay?” He asked, leading her to his car, which was parked not too far away. 

“Yeah, yeah. It was not so bad, the detective only asked me a series of questions and said I could go home,” Maddie explained. She may not have felt it before but now she was starting to feel some relief when it came to Mr. Daniels being arrested. 

He may have been apologetic and took accountability for what he did, but that did not mean that what he did should be excused. He did something bad and he should indeed be punished for it.
