Chapter 290. Earthquake

The Moon goddess? The very thought sent chills down Maddie’s spine but she could not feel fear but was rather bathed in total peace and love. She kept looking at the tree as she was being led there without her consent. 

When she finally reached there, her legs stopped and she glanced around, trying to see if she would see the goddess. 

“You have lost a lot, Maddie. Your life was never easy. From the moment you were brought into this world, you were given a divine purpose and because of that, life and fate fought against you; they tested and tried you to see if you were truly worth it.” 

“And am I?” Maddie did not even think twice, the words just came out of her mouth. It was like her thoughts were lay bare before the tree. 

There were soft sounds of children's laughter echoing in the distance before the goddess spoke again, “Do you think you are?” A very soft and gentle giggle lingered for a few seconds. “Maddie, you are unique. You hold so much
