The argument had ended but Lucian hadn’t finished. Instead he recoiled into himself. He wouldn’t say his thoughts out loud anymore, it didn’t even seem like his brother liked that.

Lucian stopped reacting.The shift wasn’t sudden enough for anyone to remark on it but Rhea had felt it. There was no sharp moment where grief hardened into resolve, no dramatic decision that announced itself.

But she had watched, It happened quietly, the way fractures do, small, almost invisible, until the structure changed entirely. He had stayed beside her like he usually did, routine not changing and yet, it was in the way he didn’t pace violently anymore.

He just stayed still but his eyes darted everywhere. It was like he was becoming even more alert but not violently so, not in that way that disturbed the energy negatively. Rhea didn’t know what to think about the change.
