Chapter 19. Shane
When the first few rays of sun peeked through the windows and reminded Shane that they had fallen asleep before he’d remembered to close the heavy drapes, he was simultaneously struck by a feeling of awe at the woman still sleeping peacefully beside him. She was the first person to ever sleep in this bed with him and now he knew why he’d never wanted anyone else there. He had been waiting for her.
Now there were no memories of other women tainting his home and bedroom. It would forever only be her, even if she didn’t know it yet. He smiled and dropped a soft kiss on her forehead before sliding out of bed and closing the drapes so she could get some more sleep without the interruption of the bright light.
