Chapter 24. Shane and Noelle
Noelle woke up feeling sluggish and instantly regretted the last three glasses of champagne she had devoured the night before. Her mouth felt dry and she figured her breath could easily kill anything within a ten-yard radius.
As tense as it had been when they first arrived at Shane’s house, the night had ended up being a lot more fun than she’d anticipated. At least she thought it had been fun. Not that she could remember the end of the evening. Or actually going to bed. She groaned and sat up, brushing her rat’s nest hair out of her face with clumsy hands. She blinked a couple of times until her mascara released her upper and lower lashes that had clumped together, keeping her right eye stubbornly closed. So she had slept on the couch. Good for me, she thought, impressed with herself for not falling for Shane’s scheme to get her in bed before she had fully forgiven him.
There were bottles of both water and Advil on the coffee table by the couch where she had crash
