Chapter 34. Shane

The trip to see Theo had been just what the doctor ordered. They had been friends for so long, just sitting in front of the TV nursing a cold beer, not saying a damn thing, was relaxing and much appreciated in the midst of the drama of their lives. In their own way, they supported each other, although not much was said in actual words. 

Shane continued to text Noelle like nothing had happened. At first, he had apologized over and over, but when no responses came, he started texting her like they were still together. Good morning messages. Good night messages. How was your day? I’m thinking about you. The little things that, according to Edith, women appreciated. He had never bothered with anyone before because it never mattered before. Now he continued to send them even though she had yet to reply to a single message. He figured he would continue, until the day she asked him to stop. 

Robert had informed him of his decision to go see her in England. Apparently
