Chapter 35. Noelle and Shane

Noelle paid the cab driver that had rushed her to the hospital. She sprinted inside and followed the signs to the emergency reception area. Her hands were shaking, and her voice cracked repeatedly as she asked about her father. An older woman directed her to a different waiting room where she promised a doctor would find her and give her an update on her father. She glanced around the room and did a double take at the man sleeping in a horribly uncomfortable looking position on a chair in the corner. 

She swallowed and felt her heart pick up in speed. She would know him anywhere. She just didn’t understand why he was there. She steeled herself for the worst and walked over to him on tired feet.
