Chapter 27

Theo left Shane’s house feeling about two hundred pounds lighter on his feet. He got back in his rental car, this time headed to Ashburn and the training facility where the Wolverines practiced. He had called the place home for so many years, the guard at the gate was an old friend and let him through without any problems. He entered the facility and walked past the old Super Bowl trophies that were showcased in a spotless glass case. He took a left down the hallway where the offices were lined up and peeked his head inside the office of his old coach. 

“Surprise.” He grinned at the man who had handed him his dream life so many years ago. 

“Well look who the cat dragged in!” Coach Daniels bellowed with a smile on his face. “Come here and give an old man a hug.”

Theo did as told, and they chatted for a bit before he left the office area and headed downstairs to the gym where he instantly spotted Marcus working o
