Chapter 40. Arguing with a Smile
"No, we're just having lunch," Leo replied. Of course, Alana could guess that Leo couldn't possibly dismiss his uncle when he visited his workspace. Reno then sat across from Alana, briefly gazing in her direction.
"Uncle accidentally overheard your conversation about your late mother-in-law's bakery. How's it going? Is everything smooth?" Reno asked. Somehow, Alana found his smile, which seemed very fake to her, slightly unsettling as Reno looked at her with that smile.
"Of course, everything is smooth. I will handle my late mother-in-law's bakery very well, so Uncle doesn't need to worry," Alana replied, returning Reno's smile with her best smile, although it wasn't sincere from her heart. It seemed that Reno sensed this, as he chuckled and patted his thigh with his hand.
"Yes, yes. Uncle believes you. Uncle remembers when the bakery was also on the verge of success in this era, of course, after Mrs. Leo passed away, when Selena managed the bakery. If only Selena
