Chapter 32
Sky's POV
The dark blue color surrounding his left eye is almost black, indicating a possible injury. The red and veiny appearance of the eye is unmistakable and impossible to miss. His lip is swollen and torn, and on his right cheek, there is a deep cut that has started to heal.
“Kyle.” My thumb brushes his cheek, being pricked slightly by his stubble. “What happened?”
“It’s nothing.” He shakes his head. “It’s healing, it’s fine.”
“This isn’t fine, Kyle.” I bring my other hand to the top of his forehead, right by his hair. I find myself curling my fingers in his hair as I push his head back to take a closer look at the bruise on his jawline, which is almost fully healed, as well as the handprints around his neck that are gradually fading away.
“Sky.” he brings his hands to mine and lowers them off his face. I feel his hand on my cheek, cupping it gently, and a sheepish smile playing on his lips. “I’m fine.”
