Chapter 33

Kyle’s POV

It didn't take long for her to fall asleep after I left. I got up from the spot on the floor where I had been sitting for almost an hour, feeling pins and needles in my legs as I walked into the kitchen. Morison and Owen were whispering to each other, but as soon as they noticed my arrival, they fell silent.

“Kyle, my boy, how are you doing?” Morison asked cheerfully. It was fraudulent. He has never been so affable with me. Although I was aware of his fondness towards me, his lack of trust did not elude me and I comprehended the reason behind it. Apart from Sky, Morison is the sole individual who is aware of the entire account of my parents. In fact, he possesses more knowledge. I couldn't be completely candid with Sky. I didn’t want her to know everything and pity me.

“I’m ok.” I lie.
