Chapter 44
Sky's POV
The run was not bad. It was somewhat liberating, but I would say it was just an average experience. Patton kindly accompanied us all the way back to our home and as we neared the house, we noticed that all the lights were on, which made me release the breath I didn't even realize I was holding.
“Thank you for today.” I gave Patton a small smile. After a casual salute, he turned his back and began to walk away.
“He didn’t have to walk us home, we’re not child.” Kyle says in an agitated voice.
My inner voice was telling me that something was amiss, and I was right to trust it. He barely even looked at me, which was a relief, but not like him. I ignored his comment and opened the backdoor.
“Watch it Sky, I’ve got popcorn here.” Lowell says as he avoids the door from hitting him. “Oh, hi Kyle.”
“What is this?” Kyle’s hands leave his sides, waving in the air at the kitchen and the boys in the living room.
