Chapter 70
Sky's POV
Out of the corner of my eye, I manage to catch a quick glimpse of a woman dressed entirely in black. She watches from the shadows as the scene before her begins to unfold, her heart racing with anticipation.
As the silver bullet continued to soar through the air, the surrounding space remained frozen and silent. The bullet didn’t appear to be her primary concern. I couldn't help but notice how her eyes were fixed on me, unwaveringly.
The sight of her cold, piercing blue eyes caused a wave of chills to travel down my spine. She fixed her eyes on me with an astute stare, as if she had grasped all of my hidden truths and could foresee my thoughts, prior ordeals, and forthcoming challenges. The fact that she was scrutinizing me was something I found disagreeable. I found myself feeling vulnerable and exposed during that time.
‘Why was she here? Why hadn’t the bullet tore through my flesh yet? Who was she? Was she responsible for the time delay?’
