Chapter 28. Return to the Village
Steve joined them at the dining table after waking up to a noise from the kitchen that woke him up. Apparently, Sandy was making breakfast for the three of them that morning. Sandy was a little annoyed at Lily's fiancé for suddenly making the announcement that he was going with Lily to her hometown.
"Good morning, Sandy." Steve greeted his friend, who was still busy stirring the pot of soup. Steve realized Sandy was still angry with him, so he asked once again. "Good morning, my dear friend."
Sandy looked back, and a second later he looked away with a dissatisfied look on his face. Steve sighed heavily. It was hard to tell when a woman was sulking.
"You prefer to do things in secret now?" Sandy quipped. Steve listened carefully to what Sandy said. He chose to remain silent, not bothering her to speak. "You want to take Lily; don't talk to me a word. I was protecting Lily, and you left quietly? You don't think of me anymore?"
