Grant hadn't been suspicious when she said she was leaving. He was only worried about her. She found it ironic. Him being worried when in the past he had always been the source of her woes.

Seeing him acting all loving and kind toward her was like a stench in a clean room. It was off and unnatural. For some reason, she didn't know how to deal with that. It was much easier to handle him when he was being violent and loud. 

She tried to push thoughts of him out of her mind. After all, this was her break, and she wasn't supposed to be spending it worrying about her abusive husband and his tactics.

She closed her eyes and tried to nap before the flight was over.
