Chapter 30

Ava’s POV

I slapped myself hard, just to be certain I wasn’t daydreaming.

It stung. But yup, it pretty much confirmed the fact that it was real.

I was in Ezra’s bed… and naked.

I picked up the pillow, buried my face in it and let out a muffled scream as bits and pieces of last night flashed through my mind.

When I rose again, my face was redder than an over ripe tomato.

I felt like a silly high school girl blushing because her crush glanced at her.

Whatever joy I felt vanished as I remembered the image of him bolting out of the room while rumbling out apologizes.

A sigh escaped my lips.

Even after all these years, he still saw me as nothing other than his best friend’s little sister.

The sound of my buzzing phone snapped me out of my thoughts.

I scrambled through the bed towards my purse—then dug out my phone.

It was Alex.

I peeked at the time at the top of my screen and let out a small curse.
