Soren Kade looked at his own name on the command message and said the least useful thing possible.

"That is unfortunate." Tamsin drew her sword.

"Do not move."

"I was not planning to."

"Good."

Mara took the message from him. "Is this your cipher?"

Soren read it twice. "Yes."

"Could someone copy it?"

"With difficulty."

"That was not the question."

"Yes."

Tamsin stepped closer. "How many people know how?"

Soren's eyes moved toward the relay bell. "Severin. Darius. Two senior archivists. Me."
