Mara's POV

Ronan's command hit everyone in the room except me.

Maeve dropped first. Soren struck both knees against the stone. Tamsin swore as the force bent her down. Even my mother staggered before catching herself on the table.

Ronan looked more horrified than any of them.

"Get away from me," he forced out.

The words were his this time.

I stayed exactly where I was.

"No."

"Mara."

"You are not doing this. Severin is."

The blood seal glowed through his shirt like a coal under skin.

His hands were shaking. Grimm fought inside him so violently that silver flashed across Ronan's eyes.
