Chapter 23. Attitude

*** A FEW WEEKS LATER ***

For the past few weeks, Rick has been keeping his nose clean and a good distance from his brother. They’re still not on talking terms. Meanwhile, he has been observing Kelvin, his new boss and he has concluded that Kelvin just like his father has not triggered his wolf gene. He doesn’t seem to know who is really is except that he’s the son of Mr. Steve who owns the Cast News.

Each time Rick wanted Kelvin to sign a paper, he would hand him a silver pen to be on the safe side. He aims to determine when Kelvin has triggered his gene. Plus he knew the silver pen would burn any werewolf on contact. Not just a silver pen but any element of silver. On contact, their affected skin would sound like a lump of sizzling meat.

He never told his brother about Mr. Steve’s son taking his father’s place. Daryl wouldn’t waste any time in killing Kelvin if he finds out. As for now, Rick is the only person that knows and he wishes to keep it a secret.<
