Chapter 24. The Killer in Town

Rick and Nancy scout the neighborhood in search of Matt. The streets are crowded with people celebrating the music festival. New people are hitting the streets to join the festival. They were all bursting with excitement and energy, dancing to the beats of the drum rolls and trumpet sounds.

Rick took Nancy by the hand as they forced their way into the crowd. He has his vampire-finding instinct on.

“Don’t let go of my hand,” he said to Nancy.

It’s very hard to see a familiar face in the crowd. They continued to shove their way into the crowd.

The only person Nancy was able to reach out to is Rick. This wasn’t the best moment to be around him let alone him joining the search for Matt. Rick’s presence alone would push Matt farther from home.

There’s no other person on her list to call for help. Dave has not been in town. He has been in Chicago. However, he would have made a good fit for the search in order not to scare Matt away.
