Chapter 55. So Me

*** HOTEL UPTOWN ***

Rick slumps on the bed. The room is just like he likes it to be: red bed sheet neatly spread, thick red curtains, and some pictures of past American presidents hung on the wall. He had always used room 101 before he purchased the mansion with Daryl. He compelled the hotel manager to always keep the room for him and to put it up to his taste. The only source of light in the room is an energy red bulb.

“I miss this place,” he said, sniffing into the air. The old scent of the room settled deep down his soul, bringing with it every memory he had in the room.

He thrust his hand into his pocket and brought out his phone. Just like he promised to call Nancy when he’s settled in his hotel room, he swiped the lock of the screen and hastily dialed Nancy’s number.

Mia isn’t having a good time staying with her grams. She has been feeling restless and has continued to turn and roll continuously on the bed from one end to the other.
