Chapter 54. Face off

*** NANCY’S APARTMENT ***

“What the hell is he doing here?” Matt lashed out. He frowns at his sister for bringing Rick into their house. “Isn’t he supposed to be a vampire who kills people?”

“Hush, Matt! Hush,” Nancy whispered, placing her index finger on her lips. “You know he could hear you?” she whispered again.

“I don’t care but I won’t have him under the same roof with me.”

Matt is still dealing with the fact that vampires exist. He tried telling people about the existence of vampires but Dave and Nancy advised him it is unwise to do that because of his safety. He’s just learning to live with such a secret and to adjust to accept the fact he will never tell a soul. What he can’t adapt to is having a vampire live under the same roof as him. His concern is that the vampire would kill him in his sleep.
