Chapter 37. Rough Night

As the police cruiser traversed the road, everyone inside succumbed to unconsciousness, leaving them helpless. In the midst of this, the strange man and woman had already disappeared into the woods. Without warning, they flung open the car door and forcibly removed Clara.

Suddenly, the sheriff regained consciousness and urgently shouted at them, "Hey! Hey! Get back here!" while struggling to free himself from the seatbelt.

"Ouch!" uttered Jack, rubbing his head as he slowly opened his eyes. "I did warn you to watch where you're going, didn't I?" Jack remarked to the sheriff, who was still struggling to release himself from the seatbelt.

Eventually, the sheriff managed to break free and swiftly pursued the man and woman who were dragging Clara.

"Oh! Where's he off to now?" Jack mused, still unaware of the unfolding situation.

The sheriff chased after the man and the woman, but the faster he ran, the faster they got. Quickly, the sheriff drew his
