Chapter 36. Strange Things

*** At Scott Mann’s Farm House ***

The presence of the crescent moon had ushered in the night. As Jack and Clara were eating supper with his grandfather, they heard the sound of the doorbell, "Ding dong!"

"Son, go see who's at the door." Scott said to his grandson.

Scott turned the TV to the news station as his grandson made his way to the door. He had retired from the duties of a sheriff in Bailey county long time ago. He had Jasmine’s witch stripped him of his powers: ‘I wish to live a normal human life,’ he told the witch. ‘I want to taste a natural death and not in the hands of any supernatural being.’

Jack questioned, standing at the entrance, "Who is there?"

A voice yelled from outside, "Is the sheriff, open up!"

Jack breathed softly as he lets the sheriff inside after flinging open the door.

The sheriff greeted, "Hello Jack!"

"Evening, Sheriff," Jack says in answer to the sheriff.

The sheriff drew closer t
