Phill grabbed her shoulders and held her down, before looking up at Jake.

Mercy stepped forward, noticing the grim expression on Phill’s face. “Why do you look like that, Phill? What’s wrong?” she asked.

Phill ignored her and turned his attention back to Lea.

“You can’t see him right now,” he said softly. “Kai’s awake, but... there’s a problem.”

Lea’s face fell, panic seeping into her eyes. “What do you mean? What’s going on? What happened to my, Kai?”

Phill looked at her with apologetic eyes before turning to face Jake. “We ran some tests and found out that Kai’s liver is in acute failure. It’s because of toxic shock. We need to do a transplant as soon as possible to save him.”
