Chapter 14. Good News

Phill’s POV

Lea was finally up.

She was sitting right in front of me.

Her vitals were looking good but she did not look alive. She looked like a statue, sitting there, staring at the wall in front of her.

I gathered my courage and finally walked up to her.

“Feeling good?” I asked, despite knowing the answer too well.

She looked at me and forced a smile.

I sat down beside her and held her hand. She was taken aback at my gesture.

“Is everything alright, Doctor?” She asked me, surprised.

I nodded. “You suffered multiple fractures. They will take time to heal. It’s a miracle you survived to be honest and so did the baby.”

Her expression changed from surprised to confused to anxious within the fraction of a second.

“Baby?” She asked as the machines started beeping with the alarming increase in her heartbeat.

I held her hand tighter.

“Lea, calm down. It’s alright. I thought you knew about your pregnancy.
