Chapter 7
Alexander’s POV
Walking out of the kitchen, my sister walks with me to the ground floor to search for anyone that may need our help. Until we find ourselves startled by a hard landing of a carcass that was either thrown from the fourth floor or slipped to fall, it’s not moving at all. Avana tries to walk out when I pull her back to me.
Once mother sees how destroyed the castle is from this. We will all hear her wrath and are pretty sure we will be pulling if not double, triple the work. Looking all over I see Orpheus’s men dropping from the floors to the first one. Placing myself first I see two of his men have been bitten, but they aren’t showing changes.
Thinking we are in the clear, I do not focus on the eyes of the men who have become bitten. They have no eyes, it’s as if they aren’t alive. I shield Avana by telling her, “Whatever you do, do not see the eyes of the vampires who are bitten, am I clear?” I feel her nod from my back.
