Chloe’s POV

My pulse pounded in my ears.

He sighed heavily. “No, don’t move it to the company. Keep it at your house.”

My breath caught.

Margaret’s house.

“That’s the safest place,” he finished.

I forced myself to move before the conversation ended. I walked casually past his office like I hadn’t heard a word.

Inside, my thoughts were racing so fast they blurred together.

The folder existed.

And it was at Margaret’s house.

He was afraid.

That meant whatever was inside that file was explosive.

I entered the elevator and pressed the ground floor button, keeping my face neutral.

Margaret’s house.

That was a different level of risk.

Breaking into Chuwa’s home had nearly cost me my arm.

Margaret’s place would be more secured. More guarded. Cameras. Private security. Possibly even staff.

And she was smarter.

If Chuwa was shaken by a break-in, Margaret would tighten everything
