Chloe’s POV

She stopped in front of me. “You erased yourself the moment you forgot your place.”

My chest rose and fell sharply. “My place is right where I earned it.”

She laughed softly. “Earned?” Her gaze dropped to the file in my hands. “Do you know what this means? This amount qualifies as grand financial fraud. Prison time.”
