Chapter 4

She moved her lips against his, working herself into the rhythm he was setting. She didn’t even notice when her hand released the glass and the champagne spilled in a small puddle on the hall carpet. David moved her against the door, pinning her between the hard wood and his hard muscles. When he turned the knob, she felt herself stumbling backwards into the mystery room, and the only thing holding her up was his strong arm looped around her back.

The door slammed closed behind them, the kiss still absorbing her attention so fully that she didn’t even notice where she was until he pulled away.

Then she looked around, her breath coming in short bursts after the long kiss. Her eyes adjusted to the dim lighting, and her brain tried to comprehend what she was seeing.
