“What?” Morgan asked.

“It was David. He was annoyed at my schedule. And he had it changed this morning. Think about it Morgan, he’s the only one with the power to make a change at the last minute like this. No one else could have done it.”

“She’s right,” Morgan said, turning to Dustin. “That’s true.”

“Why would he do that?” Dustin asked.

“Just to control me, to tell me that I can’t work because it’s bothering him. Maybe he wants me to quit my job and just be available to him twenty-four seven.” Gia was fuming now, furious.

“I can’t believe he’d do that…” Morgan said, her voice soft, confused.

“He would.” Gia’s voice was certain. “He made a phone call about a minute before this schedule got changed. Right after he told me that working the night shift was unacceptable to him.”
