"It's not a hard and fast rule that you must shift at midnight, and your wolf appears to be ready to go," he explained.

Simon stopped us as we were leaving.

"Where are you guys off to?" he inquired.

"I'm going to shift," I explained.

"By yourself?" he inquired.

"No. "Alpha Viktor is going to assist me," I stated.

"I just thought... I thought you'd want me to help," he said, visibly upset.

"I apologize. "I didn't even consider it," I admitted. "When Viktor offered, I just said yes."

"So it's Viktor now," sneered he.

"I don't see what the big deal is," I explained.

What's the big deal? "The big deal is that you should never address an Alpha by his first name," he snarled. "That's improper."

"You're such a stickler, Simon," I commented. "Stop constructing mountains out of mole hills." And please stop yelling at me. "Are you inebriated?"

"You shouldn't be talking to her like that," Viktor pointed out. "Show some respect."<
