Time had a funny way of slipping by.

It felt like just yesterday that Liliana had been a tiny bundle in my arms, blinking up at us with wide, curious eyes. Now, months later, she was still small but filled with endless energy—especially when her big brother was around.

At the moment, that same big brother was sprawled on the floor, making exaggerated faces as Liliana sat in front of him, giggling at his antics. She was dressed in one of her little soft dresses—one that Samuel had insisted on gifting her, despite my protests that she’d outgrow it in weeks—and her chubby little fingers were curled around one of Johanis’ hands.

“She’s so cute,” Johanis declared, grinning as he gently wiggled his fingers to make her laugh. “I bet she’s gonna be super fast when she gets big like me.”
