Five days. That was how long it had been since Johanis' birthday—a grand, ridiculous, and utterly exhausting celebration that involved an oversized cake, a miniature "battle arena" for the pups (Samuel’s idea), and an impromptu fireworks display courtesy of Rio, who absolutely should not have been trusted with those stuffs.

And I thought I had time to recover.

I was entirely wrong.

Because now, here we were, in the midst of another pack-wide celebration—this time for Liliana’s first birthday.

The great hall was filled with chatter and laughter, tables stacked with food, decorations hanging from every possible surface. The pack had gone all out—because of course they had. Even if Hans had tried to keep things "small and simple," the moment Rio, Samuel, and even Mael got
