Chapter 10. William
William couldn’t believe what had just happened. He knew that out of everyone in his family, he was the only one who could enter into the forbidden forest. He’d heard from his folks they had new neighbors in town.
He didn’t even know who the girl was, but he knew one thing was that he kept seeing her face in his dreams, but an older version of her. There was blood everywhere, the air reeked of smoke and iron, and screams could be heard. He had her in his arms, and he hugged her so closely to his body while in pain and tears, she uttered things he couldn’t make out.
“Will, Willy, William Whittham!” his mum shouted out, breaking him out of his trance.
William was the second of three kids in the Whittham family, the only boy among three girls. He’d grown up in a loving home, being groomed to take over the coven. His family was one of the oldest surviving founding families of Arlington, the town mostly made up of humans to conceal the secrets it has.
