Chapter 14. Bakery
Queen woke up to the sounds of birds singing from her window. Stretching, she sat up, thinking everything from last night was a dream until she got out of bed and passed by her mirror on the way to the bathroom. She paused and ran back to the mirror only to find herself in last night’s outfit with her muddy sneakers by her bed.
“How did I get home?” she asked herself, not able to recall the events that took place.
Still looking in the mirror, a knock came through.
“Queen, it’s me, Davies. Can I come in?” he asked, silently hoping she’d let him in. Since their argument where he stormed out and said terrible words to her, she didn’t leave her room.
“Um, I’m coming. Can you give me two hours tops? I’ll be out,” she said in a hurry.
Davies had no choice but to wait. ‘It’s better than telling me to leave,’ he thought.
Queen had seen the makeshift ropes she made out of her clean spare bed sheets from the corner of her eyes. She rushed over to the win
