Chapter 13. Night Walk
The night air was cool, Queen felt much better sitting by the window, color had come back to her cheeks, and she no longer seemed pale, Davies words kept playing in her head, while she looked at the forest. Closing her eyes, she rests on the wall, breathing softly.
“Malaka!” came the whispers from the wind, this time louder. She stood up from her squatting position and looked out the window. Suddenly she saw a shadow.
Gasping, she hurriedly heads to her wardrobe and pulls on her pants and a jacket. She took a flashlight from her desk. She looks out her window once more to determine the distance to the ground.
Queen gulped. “I’d rather break a bone or two rather than meet Davies at the stairs,” she muttered to herself. She left the window and went to search her wardrobe for bed sheets she could tie together. Getting them, she tied four bundles together.
