Chapter 40. Hunters (3)
Charles made it to the town, on getting out of the bus, he saw soldiers at the checkpoint escorting people into trucks even those that just arrived. The wind began to pick up its pace, slow but steady.
Charles ran up to one of the soldiers to make inquiries on what was happening, “what’s going on?” he held on to his cap as the wind almost picked it up from his head.
“A tornado is headed this way and the council made an announcement for everyone to be taken to the town’s bunker.” Charles nodded his head.
The soldier looked at him, “sir, I’ll need you to follow us.” he said without negotiations.
“I’m sorry, I can’t find my family,” Charles replied. He was about to leave when the soldier held him back.
“Sir, you’re breaching the protocol, Let head to the shelter, and then you can search for them there.” But Charles refused to listen, he struggled with the soldier.
