Chapter 13
The next morning, I was in a panic. Nocturne had not had her first etiquette class, nor had she met with the seamstress. I understood that war waits for no man, but how was she supposed to successfully win over the backward noblemen if she was so ill prepared. My anxiety was pouring off of me like waves as I waited for Nocturne.
“Lord Albert. Please calm down.” Andrew scolded me as I paced in front of the double doors of the castle’s entrance.
“How can I be calm in a situation like this?” I snapped at him. He was unphased by my outburst.
“You trust Lady Nocturne, do you not?” He asked with a serious expression on his face.
“Of course I do.” I said, with a scowl.
“You do not look like you trust her.” He said as he turned his nose up at me.
“I do!” I barked at him. I took a deep breath and calmed myself down. “I trust her, that is not the issue. I do not trust the men of our empire.” I explained.
