Chapter 17

Sofia led us into the lounge room, where Lady Costello was waiting for us. She was a middle-aged woman with bright red hair. Her dress was of an extravagant design of a light blue with dark blue flowers embroidered throughout it. She stood up and smiled when she saw Nocturne.

“Duchess. You are truly a beauty just as the king said.” Costello said as she swooned before Nocturne.

“I am flattered to receive such a compliment from someone as lovely as you.” Nocturne smiled, innocently. This was one of those moments where she looked like an angel rather than a demon.

“I am so sorry for making you wait, duchess. I was finishing up my new set of dresses that are scheduled to debut at my shop at the end of the week. Please understand I meant no disrespect in making you wait. I just wanted to provide you with the finished products.” Costello said as she bowed.

“Please, do not fret. You are forgiven. I was able to manage while waiting for you, so truly, no harm done
