Chapter 43

We woke up earlier than usual on the day of the festival. The servants worked hard to get us dressed for the parade which would start late that morning and end in the late afternoon. Nocturne and I would both be riding horses in the parade, so we dressed in our horseback riding gear. Hers created by Costello, mine, picked out by Raymond himself. My outfit was blue with a silver accent. These were the traditional colors of the royal mages. I was surprised to see it complimented Nocturne’s white and gold outfit almost perfectly.

 “I am glad we at least compliment each other.” I commented. Nocturne scowled and came over to me.

 “You should cover your face at least…too many are going to swoon at the sight of you, much to my displeasure.”

 “I could ask the same of you. Your beauty makes mine dwindle in comparison.”
