Chapter 44

We landed on Nocturne’s bed when we teleported back to the estate. I could see an emotion in her eyes I had never seen before. Fear. She swiftly wrapped her arms around my neck and threw herself back onto the bed, pulling me on top of her in the process. Her golden eyes were wide with fear as she frantically pulled me into a kiss. I was too stunned at first to respond, but eventually managed to pull myself away from her.

 “What is with the sudden frenzy of emotions?” I asked her, concern apparent in my voice. Nocturne reached out and desperately tried to pull me back into her embrace. I did not budge.

 “For fuck’s sake, just fuck me!” She growled out, attempting to sound threatening, but her voice quaked instead. I reached out and gently wrapped my arms around her waist. I lifted her back up into a sitting position and looked directly into her eyes.

 “Have I not proven myself worthy to know the truth of your feelings?” I asked, softly. Nocturne cracke
