Chapter 7

After I took a bath, I was escorted by Andrew to a large lounge room that was on the first floor of the castle.

“This is where you will be having lunch with the lady.” Andrew said as we entered the lounge room. Nocturne was not inside, instead, there were a few maids and another butler cleaning the room.

“Would you like some tea while you wait, my lord?” One of the maids asked me.

“Yes please.” I smiled at her. She blushed slightly as she prepared a cup of tea for me. I sat down on one of the large sofas that sat in the middle of the room. The maid was preparing the tea on the coffee table that was placed in between the two sofas. I looked around the room and noticed it lacked the usual decorations that filled a noble’s estate. “With how barren this place looks; I am assuming all of the decorations owned by the previous owner were confiscated to pay off his debts?”

“You are correct, my lord.” Andrew nodded. I scowled at him.
