That night, I found myself unable to sleep. Now that Nocturne had confessed that she wanted me to be her lover, I felt forced to face the feelings I was experiencing when around her. I sat up in my bed and put on my robe. I sighed as I summoned a communication crystal. I did not have many people to turn to besides Raymond and Marvin. The thought of turning to Raymond for relationship advice made me uncomfortable. For whatever reason, I felt that he was the only one who could ever truly be my rival if I decided to pursue Nocturne. Raymond was not stupid, and he understood that if he could keep Nocturne at his side, he would have no problem staying in power, so that left me to consult with the man who raised me. Marvin. Marvin was celibate, taking a vow as soon as he was of age. Most mages were celibate, not always by choice, but it was a requirement.
