“Did you get laid last night?”

I looked up from my patient logs to find one of my co-workers leaning over the counter looking like a hunter who had sighted her prey. And I was her prey.

Drool practically dripped down her lips as she stared at me, waiting for my answer. I barely could remember her name and had to glance at the brightly colored lanyard around her neck to remind me.

“What are you talking about, Claire?” I asked her uncomfortably.

“Did you get laid last night? You’ve been moping around here like you’ve lost your best friend since you started. Then you pop in here late yesterday looking worse than ever. But now, you’re bright, sunny, and cheerful like you had a good tumble in the sack. Spill the juicy details!” she demanded, unconsciously licking her lips.
