Chapter 53

Anastasia didn’t want to answer the call from Mahlon because she was in a noisy environment.

She went out with the girls for wine tasting but ended up in a bar drinking and dancing to their favorite tunes.

She decided to call Mahlon back because she couldn’t understand what he was saying over the noise. Alice suggested she text him instead, which she did.

She was so pleased that Mahlon was going to meet his son for the first time that she read the last message to her pals with glazed eyes since she had had so much to drink. The girls were so ecstatic that they ran home to tell Nancy, who has since become the person with whom they all run to share their day at work.

When they returned home, they discovered that the small child was deep asleep, and they had no choice but to disrupt Nancy’s sleep with their intentions. They didn’t get to bed until 1 a.m.
