Chapter 60

Mahlon arrives at Eden’s apartment 20 minutes later, unable to wait for Bruno, and knocks on the door. No one answers, but as he is about to leave, Eden opens the door.

Mahlon wasn’t in the mood to converse; he doesn’t like to be kept waiting, and Eden was well aware of this, and it was exactly what she desired.

When Mahlon gets angry, all he does is drink and doesn’t say much.

She handed him a drink and began telling him about the oil company, and he sat there silently listening before falling asleep on the couch.
