Chapter 81

After a long day at work, Mahlon returned home late in the evening to discover Anastasia in the kitchen.

He was ready to go upstairs when he heard a noise in the kitchen and the voices of people chatting; he wasn’t expecting to see anyone in the kitchen at the time of the night.

He decided to check and see the people who decided to wake up late in the evening to have a meeting in the kitchen.

He observed something about her that he hadn’t noticed before.

She has a plate of food in one hand and a glass of water in the other.

“What are you doing up this late?” he enquires, a furious grimace on his face.

Anastasia can’t think of a word to say; she has food in her mouth, and she wasn’t expecting to see him at that time in the night.
