Chapter 54
"It's seven, madam!" Lina scolded the girl before her, all dressed up in a skimpy black gown that barely covered her thighs, jewelry glittering on her ears and hands, and makeup so heavy that Lina wondered if she could even move her face.
"Come on, Lina, don't be such a killjoy." Maria pouted, "All you have to do is cover up for me till I'm back." She went behind Lina, who was arranging cups on the rack after cleaning them with a towel.
"There are high chances he won't even ask." She shrugged, saying, "All I ask is for you to tell him I'm in my room."
Lina turned to face her, her hands akimbo. "Where to, madam?"
Maria avoided her eyes. "Well, I won't be long; that's all you should know."
Grabbing her bag from the counter, she began to strut out of the kitchen but stopped when Lina called after her, "When you be back?"
"Two," she yelled, fleeing from sight.
She was tired, tired of the tightness of the manor; everyone had their emotions
